SoccerBible has today stumbled across a curious sketch design that has intrigued us so much, we just had to share it with the boot community to hear your opinion. From the markings on the boot this looks like a major development from adidas, who've not yet been available for comment, but here's the sketch with some great info... The sketch indicates that the boot will include a sensor devise in the outsole that will measure speed, distance and time, so could this be the world's first interactive boot? Both Nike and adidas have been involved in the battle to bring out the lightest boot, with their Mercurial and F50 ranges, but surely an interactive boot is taking a huge leap forward in boot development. Interestingly, it was only a few weeks ago our boot spotting team snapped Bayern midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger sporting a rather intriguing sole-plate on his adiPure's. And Schweinsteiger appears to be the test subject for new adidas technology and boots, as he's been wearing a variety of unique adidas football boots. If the technology described in the sketch is already being put into practice, then boot fans must be getting excited in anticipation. Already, adidas have a measurement device used in running called the miCoach which comes either as a standalone pod or an app, and the sketch clearly shows the logo. But according to our knowledge, miCoach can only cover distance covered in one direction - clearly no use in a multi-direction sport such as football. Unless this is a huge development by the brand? We're extremely excited at the prospect and potential of this new technology, just imagine if this really does measure how fast you are? Are you as quick as Messi or Bale? In fact are you the fastest in the team?! |
